Cookies used on the multiplication tables check (MTC) service
MTC puts small files (known as ‘cookies’) on to your computer to collect information about how you browse the site.
Cookies are used to:
- remember you once you've signed in
- remember the notifications you've seen so we don't show them again
- measure how you use the website so it can be updated and improved based on your needs
You’ll normally see a message on the site before we store a cookie on your computer.

How cookies are used on MTC

Cookies message
You may see a banner when you visit MTC inviting you to accept cookies or review your settings. We’ll set cookies so that your computer knows you’ve seen it and not to show it again, and also to store your settings.

Our performance survey
We use Qualtrics to collect responses to the survey. If you take part, Qualtrics will save extra cookies to your computer to track your progress through it.
Universal analytics
We use Google Analytics software to collect information about how you use MTC. We do this to help make sure the site is meeting the needs of its users and to help us make improvements.
Google Analytics stores information about:
- the pages you visit on MTC - how long you spend on each MTC page
- how you got to the site
- what you click on while you're visiting the site
We don’t collect or store your personal information (e.g. your name or address) so this information can’t be used to identify who you are.
We don’t allow Google to use or share our analytics data.
